Seldom Scene – 2005-09-03 Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival |
Well, we’ve finally begun the 2017 travel season. Our 2016 travel focused on hitting some of our bucket list sites, including Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.
For this year, we’ve decided that we may focus on attending bluegrass festivals in the West. We did attend ones in the spring and fall of 2016 and had such a good time, we thought we’d do it again!
We’d hoped to get started earlier in the season! There was a bluegrass festival in Blythe, CA in January, but we missed that one due to bad weather there and bad health here at home. Then there was a bluegrass festival in Bullhead City, AZ, in February. But we missed that one too – more health issues to deal with. Now, the third fest of the year is coming up at Lake Havasu SP in Arizona – the annual “Bluegrass on the Beach” festival. We said we’d make it to this one come hell or high water! We went to it last year and really enjoyed it! I’ve finished up my cataract surgeries, my visits to the cancer doctors, cardiologist, and GI doctor so, so long as I can walk and the old IBS is reasonably under control, I’ll go!
Well, I put my back out the Sunday before leaving by lifting our solar panel to check it out before traveling. Ouch. Recovered enough so that we can go as long as Bob will do the heavy lifting. Just a little bit nervous about towing the trailer after having been away from it for almost five months! Wow, way too long a time to be away from camping! No wonder I’ve missed it so much!
