Camped at the Calico Ghost Town Bluegrass festival, May 10-12, at Calico, California. Had full hookups for the first time, site B-117 in the canyon. Sites there are really, really narrow, and a 90 degree back-in, but we made it in without too much trouble. Fortunately arrived early enough that no neighbors were there yet, so that helped. It rained quite a bit on Friday, so there was no Friday night jam that had been scheduled. Had some occasions showers on Saturday, but mostly the day was pleasant. Watched the set of Chris Cerna, and talked for a bit with Celeste afterward. The evening concert hat to be moved into the restaurant because of the showers, and it filled the restaurant completely. Sound was really bad and there was no lighting on the band. We missed the Nu-Blu show, and the next band was mixed so poorly, you really couldn’t get the vocals. I was very bored with it. We went back to the camper. There was one fairly large jam session that night that Bob attended – 15-20 people – that lasted into the early hours. We skipped the Sunday shows and left for home about noon.
